Faust. Act I: Prelude to Darkness

I face myself, questions forever burning [Left to face what’s burning deep inside] Imprisoned darkened well, Cold and fearful, unnerving [Come to terms with all I tend to hide] As the crossroad appears, I’m conflicted, I’m paralyzed [Bottled up held captive do or die] From which path do I choose, Soulless quest, no proof in sight [Give up the chase, content that I’m alive] There is no point in surrendering to the evidence so tender Does anyone possess such knowledge Lost more than found Questions left unanswered Of wisdom I’m bound To never embrace Now more than ever Nothing really matters to me Nothing that we know, Wisdom never grows in and out of you is Sad but true omniscient, presumption of man Does anyone possess such knowledge... if you live intensely, come into your own anything makes sense, if taken alone Does anyone possess such knowledge Lost more than found Questions left unanswered True wisdom not found And never embraced Now more than ever Nothing really matters to me
