Ring-giver broods as Yawning dawn-light glares Bright mail and helms gleam Afore the din of battle Shields and spears advance With unyielding valor Glory of grandsires' ghosts Chant in helmed ears The sword-strokes sing Upon lithe lindenwood Clash of the war-glaive Wrought hymns of gore and iron Men of the Northland In armor and wolfhide Stout-hearted wayfarers Upon Yggr's fey path Cries of the corpse-gulls Feral horns of war Heralding the carnage Forever fought in bronzen halls The iron-voice roars In storms of raven-wine Strife, doom, and triumph Amidst the din of battle
