Atop this mountain My soul weeps in silence For here lay our graves An insignia of wounded souls A souvenir The venom to cure the deepest scar As I awake among the stars There’s a light along the way There’s a light adrift in misery

Laid beneath this empty sky With eyes wide open Awake in a deranged, shapeless lustre I am found in the loss In the spire of the hill Amid an echo of words never ever spoken Nor adorned as a drop of rain The thunderous blaze makes for growth and distension Of life and dreams Of a realm that never was A farewell to reality
