An answer to letting go Vanquished, desolate Usurped and banished No kings to ever reign in my stead An arrow through the heart Bleeding light, Bleeding life Cold hands joined in litany A remedy or a curse A cure or an empty hearse I was never alive I have never been here A wet night brought my endless rain The fog to let us see through and within The unknown, the hearth, a darkened place, a heart As the ocean sways And the waves rise Alive, relinquished The mark of winter, A memory and fading light

Here with me It will never change The wind calls your name I am keeping the light you left with me Unheld, the wind calls your name

Blood becomes soul This light that awakes me The dream that escapes me In a bed of trees Where there were none Soul becomes ash The place is near Echoed in the smoke, never left alone Echoed in the stars, forever left alone Dreams of the day To wait, to stay, to never end Blood creates, soul creates As I dream of the days So long ago Déraciné The only way is dark in the light A darkened vein
