The Worm

Embodying the nightmare, that it now manifests. Refuse to see the damage, its spines rend through my flesh. My lifelines chewed and severed, consumed by parasites, Forcing me into silence, complacent in my plight. I break, and bleed, I've lived out every fear, I scream, and plead, it falls on deafened ears, Deflect, reject, I feel my stomach turn, Chewed up, spit out, consumed now by The Worm. No matter what my action, ignored and ridiculed Allows it to slide and slither, toward open vestibules, Bear the curse of Cassandra, warning what's coming next, My throat red, raw, and seething, my body out of breath.
