Leaving This World, Leaving It All Behind
And who are you but An extension of my dream? An astral passenger, in the vehicle of my will I have lost myself, In the teething juxtaposition Of the self and the whole And alas, I've grown bitter You will see my pain for all its glory, And I will slough unto you the dejection that follows me into my dreams You'll feel my pain, Long after I'm gone And I will leave you, In the shadows of my disillusionment

When comfort is lost Who do you find yourself to be? Your shadows of thought Cast over a leper's sea Break free from your tired projections, Merely stains on what we are For your fields of aversion, shall and will be razed by the unequivocal beam Infidelities of spirit And corporeal wounds Fester the psyche And denounce our truths Mind shrouded in Ecstasy Of knowing Of believing Of seeing And breathing All your vestments mean nothing, Forgive yourself for who you are The flesh Laid bare to the stars As we wonder Who we are And after all We thought we knew There's only one way around And it's right through The universe will teach us to know, To dance beneath every angle of suffering To lose oneself in flagrant disposition Forever bound to divinity

As maledictions take their aim And only I, am to blame I must seek truth through all the lies And tear back my pale disguise Poor wretches weep and turn As the pile of bodies burn From unity we all must learn To requite the masses urn Dream, dream as you are Dream beyond the walls of a system That grasps for your meaning Bleed, bleed from the heart You'll bleed, but must never forget Their vacuous intervention, In our freedoms and liberties We must not forget, Their blatant impunity Step back From their grinding wheel, And into The heart Of night The fire burns The curtains fall And we realize There's nothing left There's nothing left but ourselves And there's nothing left in the way Behind this mountain of guilt There's nothing left in the way of change Stripped from comfort Torn from home On the verge of letting go I see the worst taking form Beyond the gates of our control Stripped from comfort Torn from home On the verge of letting go I see the worst taking form From the flames, new hope is born

With the presence of fear in the coming of all We cling to these years and are lost in the fall We must rethink the roads led to those who conform To erase the selves drawn onto our form Fading through this, Chained reality From where self doubt blooms Where the mind forsakes itself We fracture the gifts of what we truly are As the latter takes form, we deface the inner self Filling our judgement into the heart of the world May my self guided hated and fear be damned I'm no longer a servant to you And with all I remember myself to be I am free, I am free My true spirit held in contempt for all eyes to see Fettered away by naked flesh and mind For what I've conceived, No power on earth can take from me I bleed with the wind and curse this design Where the ocean floods with tears Where the light shines sickly thin We'll sing We'll sing We'll sing When the light of the stars burn out Erasing all our doubt Although we can't be sure It's as if it were

This pain has lead me away from A world I once paralleled Though the shattered winds of our dissonance I see the birds above I hear them call beyond the violence A waving hand framed in silence

Here am I Unbound to the wills of man, To taste the earth Off your lips. To submit to the dregs of the unknown, A darkness set with neither teeth nor shape. Unburdened by your need. To be nourished and torn By only the substrates of my actions, And glorious failures When I pledge my worth in this world, To the lemmings of your conception My halls lay barren They echo my loneliness Our fragile bodies, 'Neath the abstract might of the ether Shame it would be, To be drawn down by much weaker O' joyous the sword of compassion Rent through the heart of our indignities Grant me passage through ambivalence Carry me far from all this suffering I can't ask you to follow me To where it is, that I must go I'm looking for something that's never been here That scrapes behind a door meant to be closed And as I drown in the know I can affirm I have forgotten to be I have severed all invisible opportunity, And all that waits for me Is seen Leaving this world, Leaving it all behind To say goodbye To all that I've loved I've grown tired Of living your dream I close my eyes I've seen enough Leaving this world, Leaving it all behind To say goodbye To all that I've loved I've grown tired Of living your dream I close my eyes about amidst beauty and triumph, mankind fell prey to its own devices. we left the natural world to the mercy of our own god, and in the shade of his gaze he left it to die . . . leaving this world, leaving it all behind to say goodbye to all that I've loved I've grown tired of living your dream I close my eyes I've seen enough
