The Dark Rider
Riding fast through the midnight ford Steeling themselves for the deathless fate Hoofsteps waking the headless lord Dullahan, born of hate Sack of gold, hangs on their waists One last hope when their names are heard Eerie blaze, closing with haste Grotesque visage utters the word Charging forward on pitch black steed In his hand, whip of bones takes shape Darting between the trees with ease Hereafter, no escape Hollow gaze and the eyes like fire burn Never leaves a life unturned Death is brought by the spectral wanderer Bane of life, the Dark Rider On the horizon, lanterns' blaze Lighting up in the night Fleeing the darkness, through the haze End of the plight Throwing the coins down, one by one Safely the road it paves Nevertheless, their heads are gone Silent in graves
