Under the Silent Meadow Skies
Awaken once again an old light shines Far beyond where ancient eyes can see The last rays of an amber dawn glint the forest paths And flickers through the leaves On the boughs weighed down with sorrows Adorning like the saddest autumn scene Where the willows dip their branches forlornly The stillness The stillness of it all As the sun gives way to night Spectral mists surround The dying branches twisting claws against the moon Will the ragged clouds start pouring down Can the rain wash away the memories Of the paths once walked in golden times of old When the daybreak lit the canopies Where emerald shone beneath the sapphire Now a tombstone grey on a lost horizon A doleful wind sweeps a dank mist creeping Do distant lights dance beyond the mire I'll leave this life this darkened night I can feel the beckoning I'll look my last upon this sight My end will come with the evenfall And as I sigh was it you across the lake that night As the sun went down over silent meadow skies I feel a coldness in the air And wear the sadness like a shroud Under the silent meadow skies You were here Grieved with me When the final sun descended So peaceful is the scene So peaceful is my mind As the sun went down over silent meadow skies How strange it seems How cruel the bleak veiled destiny That led us on through hopeless trails That we've followed to the end A lonely end. Under the silent meadow skies (Lyrics: Guy Taylor February 2019)

For eternity I am in chains My feet are bound to earth I am here waiting for you As you fade into the distance Losing all memory I'm still here waiting for you The clouds now gather to me The rain pours down upon But here I am Here I stand My roots begin to burrow in As the wind whips upon It lashes hard against my skin I won't move I admit I am a slave to you Come back to me Don't leave me here Be one with me This world is not worth living in Without you here As you turn your back And walk away I will hope to see Your face again I am here waiting for you Tied, my feet to the ground You wanted me to catch you When you're afraid you'll fall But I'm no longer there You left me behind When I needed your hand I was too weak to stand (Lyrics: Joseph Joms, Edits and vocal arrangements: Guy Taylor January/February 2018)

The wind is whispering It echoes through the trees The voice of an old god Spirit of the moors Beckons thee Living blind Meagre lives Bereaved of understanding A wanderer Forgotten soul Living blind Meagre lives You close your eyes and refuse to see Suffering ones Feeling numb Stumbling atop a dying world Cold as stone It calls you home With open arms re-join the earth Consumed by decay We've lost our way The clouds disperse And reveal we're the same The wind is whispering It echoes through the trees The voice of an old god Spirit of the moors Beckons thee Living blind Meagre lives Bereaved of understanding A wanderer Forgotten soul And I feel I am not alone As the rain pours down and washes the flesh from my bones Its like here, here I belong From the earth I was born I'll live on I am home (Lyrics: Joseph Joms, Edits and vocal arrangements: Guy Taylor January/February 2018)
