When I was little, I always dreamt to carry the blade And slay the beasts of the wild, not knowing what that would imply I could not wait for the days to come, how could I know? The urge to fight was growing and was matched by my power The goal was clear and bright, but still no challenge was in sight So I took off to proof myself, how could I know? It's been a while since these stormy days I can barely remember those times But what I’ve seen and the scars I wear Will forever haunt my mind To bear the sword on the path of the hero Is to bear the guilt until the end of time There is no return, there is no redemption If you take a soul, you have to pay the price Through the mountains of fate, I carried my fallen brother I could not save him, I gave it all and do you know what I saw? I watched him die, stricken with horror, there is no honor in death The days went by and I did what I had to and the only thing I was taught I've been taking names and I became numb and cruel after all I kneeled before the eldest gods and asked for salvation Have they left me? Or were they just like ghosts wandering the worlds as the please? Or have I been wandering between the planes all along? My soul found shelter in your warm embrace, is this the answer?
