Chapter Three: The Forgotten Realm of Xul'Gothar
A long time ago before the uprising A brother’s bond was forged just to be wrecked again One was King in Virgol and controlled Valdura’s fate, The Other was a veteran and the warden of this state Taril craved the spotlight while his queen reigned by his side And Sigil in the south with solitude to abide Yet beyond their borders, shadows began to creep, And Sigil’s plea for aid, unanswered, fell to sleep. The seed was sown And the mistrust grew With a serpent’s tongue And an ancient darkness What was once begun Could no longer be stopped No one can escape their fate Slave or king, they all fall An expedition to the south of the realm Beyond the border to hunt the shadows down Deep into the Drämmarskol, without knowing what awaits If only they had known, it was a grave mistake What was once begun Could no longer be stopped No one can escape their fate Slave or king, they all fall An olden temple in the hidden mountainside Bears a secret object, no one can resist His eyes are mesmerized, desire takes control He can’t leave without it, so he robs the ancient gods What was once begun Could no longer be stopped No one can escape their fate Slave or king, they all fall

The fortress high, on cliffs so steep, Now holds a secret it must keep. In Urduk's halls, he found a place, To hide away this relic of forgotten days, In the walls of Urduk, secrets sleep, In shadows dark, where fears do creep. Yet as he hides it deep within, A war begins, his soul grows thin. Promises of power, promises of force What if the throne is his? What if he showed no remorse? Would he be more just and fair? Would he rule with iron fist? Would he bring back honor and let glory shine through the mist?

Through Sigil’s eyes, where shadows dance, He saw his brother’s waning stance. The throne once bright, now dimmed by gold, In courts where whispered lies unfold. Anvina’s velvet voice entwined, Her honeyed words, a serpent’s bind. Taril, now lost in lavish airs, Forgetting kingship’s pressing cares. So Sigil gathered forces from beyond the border The throne’s natural enemies swore allegiance to this treacherous order He promised peace and power and to dismantle the border wall An invitation to ancient horrors, the foundation of the fall Lightning forks through twilight’s veil, As brother’s love begins to pale. Beneath the moon’s cold, mournful cry, Stars burn out as dreams collide.

Lost in thought, his mind adrift, Sigil wandered through the rift. He sought the power, craved the light, Unaware of the creeping night. In the ruins old and cold, Lies a secret, dark and bold. The towers stood, forgotten, still, Silent sentinels on the hill. In the ruins old and cold, Lies a secret, dark and bold. The first signs came as whispered breaths, Unseen hands that brought swift death. In the towers, life was claimed, By forces that could not be named. And as the days turned into night, The darkness spread, devoid of light. A veil of shadow, cold and stark, Draped the land in endless dark. The truth now clear, too late to hide, Sigil saw what dwelled inside. A lesson learned in fear and pain, That some secrets should remain. What once was locked, now stands ajar, Releasing the dread of Xul’Gothar. The winds howl through the cursed stones, Echoing with forgotten moans. The towers hum with darkened lore, As shadows cross the threshold’s door. A warning clear to those who seek, That power’s path is not for the weak. For in the depths, where shadows lie, A price is paid, and the good will die.

Sigil: March towards the traitor’s keep in the far north The time is nigh to strike my brother’s walls He won’t know what hit him in the depth of night Not prepared at all, not ready for a fight A kingdom’s fate, A brother’s war, From the shadow realm, Of Xul’Gothar Taril: Stand within these ancient walls, prepared for war My brother’s march will test our city’s might With every breath, I brace for what’s to come Defend our realm until the final light Within those walls, Taril hides, as shadows stretch and darkness sighs, The air is charged with coming strife, like thunder rolling through the skies. The tension coils, a storm’s embrace, as battle looms with fiercest grace, A kingdom’s fate, A brother’s war, From the shadow realm, Of Xul’Gothar Taril: The clash of steel and thunder echo through my mind Our fate hangs by a thread in the darkening sky As dawn approaches, I steel myself for bloodshed We stand as one against the storm that’s drawing near

As Sigil’s army stormed with might, The city’s walls came into their sight. A dark horizon loomed ahead, A dread unknown, the night was spread. With every step, the ground did quake, The banners flew, the earth did shake. The air grew still, a silence deep, As tension coiled, the soldiers heap. The sky turned black, the moon grew pale, In moments swift, the soldiers fell. Shadows roared from depths unseen, Swirling dark where light had been. Sigil’s cry, a desperate sound, As darkness dragged him below the ground. The city walls, now stained with death, Where darkness choked their final breath. The ground was littered, bodies sprawled, The dark army is now crushed and mauled. King Taril fled to distant shores, To Tordal’s peace, where legend soars. By the river Myr and tower high, Where whispers of old powers lie. Eons passed, the tale grown faint, In Tordal’s light, the past was stained. A bustling city, shadows blend, Where whispers of old secrets wend.
