Unto the chamber, development continues obliviously Heavy machinery moving dirt and stone The dormant detritus, petrified and preserved for millennia Buried under miles of earth A nudge strikes the chamber, shocking it from its silence The first light of a thousand years The Sun is blinding, yet it finds familiar the taste of soil and blood The chamber's lattice of bone and flesh parts as onlookers begin to recede from the mouth Nothing seems to visibly exit, but its presence can be felt The air falls silent A swirling mass blasts through the crowd Punching through the chest of the exhumer and spiralling into the clouds He lay there with splintered ribs, his organs atomized behind him in a suspended mist The Sun darkens as a black smog befalls the ground quakes as hundreds more bolts of air erupt from the mouth Panicked screams, bodies bend backward and snap as the spirits collide Evil roots itself in the veins of Earth once again It finds familiar the taste of soil and blood

From the sky rains death! The fallen litter the streets I glimpse at the gelatinous form Devoid of expression yet a face more complete than memory Imprinted in my subconscious The horrid visions of the damned My surroundings dissolve The veil of perception subdues my senses I stand in a field, amongst the scent of ash The sun feels strange on my skin, a relief long desired As if returning home A landscape too utopian To bе alone in I hear rustling from behind Nothing seems visibly thеre, but it’s presence can be felt A vision so vivid A life I’ve never lived Held captive by hallucinations A hand is extended The decision to accept is made before I can think It smiles at me, through mangled teeth A harborer of darkness It decides to send me back I regain awareness, yet something else does too The shroud falls around me

The relic breathes, it whispers to me hymns of devastation An unyielding cacophony Rooted in memory, it screams "Come to me..." Miles underground faint drops of water turn deafening As they echo throughout the cavern The sound grows louder "You've found me" Engulfed in a stench putrid and nauseating I see the orb of bone and light: Morphing and swirling as a fluid Intangible yet horrifyingly present It longs to be returned to its source It begins to glow with hunger Once removed from its tangle of flesh, the lattice parts I step inside, my feet slosh against the organic ground matter My flashlight glides across the wall Illuminating petrified faces unseen for thousands of years Frozen in agony and terror, their flesh becomes material It utters its final words "Return me..." tentacles lie motionless in the center of the chamber, the orb is drawn to it A faint glow is cast upon the vermicular mass revealing its slime-coated surface The orb seems to disappear inside the tendrils As they stir

The air feels different today A slight acidity, is it? A heaviness? The kind of feeling that sinks your stomach, a primal response to terror As if thousands of eyes are taking you in Something has awakened in the chamber Tendrils drag across their vast subterranean tunnels A tentacled tumor in the Earth The crust struggles to support its mass A world unfit for this abomination Leeching organic material from the surface, entire forests wilt and die A voice materializes from the ether: "Rise, Colossus..." A hymn of summoning crawls forth from the bowels of the deep Continents bear the weight of the mammoth, splitting at their junctions Cities fall into the sea, boiling magma erupts from the depths Out of the temporal rift Bending space-time with its mere existence Lashing fire into the earth The seeds lain thousands of years before Births this spawn The prophesied harbinger of darkness The consumer of life
